Start with your longest regular day
Electric two-wheelers can reduce running costs, but the right choice depends on charging access, warranty clarity and realistic range needs. Start with the busiest day you normally ride, then add a sensible reserve for diversions, weather, battery ageing and an unexpected extra trip.
Read the battery warranty
Before booking, compare battery warranty, charger type, installation responsibility, service availability and the distance you ride on your longest regular day. Ask which failures are covered, whether usable-capacity loss has a stated threshold and what documents are needed for a claim.
Confirm charging permission
Home or workplace charging is normally more dependable than planning every week around public infrastructure. Confirm electrical requirements, cable routing, parking permission and the charger replacement policy before paying. Apartment residents should obtain written installation approval where required.
Compare usable range
Claimed range is produced under defined test conditions and should not be treated as a guaranteed daily result. Speed, acceleration, passenger load, gradients, temperature, tyre pressure and accessory use can change consumption. Compare range in the riding mode you expect to use.
Budget beyond electricity
Calculate ownership cost with the purchase price, finance, insurance, electricity, scheduled service, tyres and possible charger work included. Check whether battery, motor, charger and connected electronics have different warranty periods or exclusions.
Test the controls
Take a proper test ride and evaluate throttle calibration, regenerative braking, low-speed balance, seat comfort, suspension and braking. Open the storage, use the display in daylight and check whether the mobile application is necessary for important functions.
Verify the delivery package
Before delivery, verify the exact variant, battery capacity, charger, software features, included cable, VIN, warranty documents and service contact. Keep the invoice and charging records, and never rely on a verbal promise that is absent from the written terms.

Build a seven-day journey log before comparing batteries. Record the longest day separately from the average: an average can hide the one journey the scooter cannot comfortably complete. If your longest day is 48 km and you choose a 25% planning reserve, you need 60 km of usable range under comparable conditions. This is an example of your planning requirement, not a claim that any scooter delivers that range. Ask for a representative demonstration with your usual passenger and riding mode. If home charging is uncertain, trial the alternative charging routine before committing; count the detour, waiting time and access restrictions as well as the electricity bill.
